New Balance Men's MC656 Cushioning Tennis Shoe

I would not choose these as running shoes, or even to play tennis in them. They are very comfortable and good looking and great weekend shoes. I stand and walk all day at work and these are just okay for that but not as cushy as my NB running shoes. Still I love these when I want to dress casually but also look fun and a little hip. The could pass for scatter shoes but are adult enough to wear anywhere.

I like that they are breathable and airy, and the colors have really grown on me. People at work always comment that I wear the coolest shoes and these fit my style and reputation for wearing fun but not crazy or super loud shoes.

I wear them maybe twice a week to work and they are my go to weekend shoes I put on after the yard work is done. My old New Balance shoes took over for the yard work as they have pelenty of life in them.

I might at I'm a big guy and some shoes provide plenty of support for a smaller or lighter person. So for me to endorse them but be reserved on wearing them all day at work might be just fine for someone else who does not need as much cushiness as I want for work shoes on cement floors all day.

Prince MV4 Men's Shoe

I play squash since 9 years, three times a week or more. After trying many many shoes I ended up with Prince NFS indoor that I played since a couple of years now. I first played the red ones (about five pairs) and then the yellow ones (2 or 3 pairs). I love them. When I heard, Prince had a new type called the MV4 I was not sceptical to try them since I know the good thing about Prince is they never really change the bottom plate. Besides I love how the MV4 look.

Today I played them and I tore my ligaments. Although I am aware of the fact this can happen anytime when you play squash I think it is caused by the shape of the shoe and I want to explain why I think this is.

The difference between a running shoe and an indoor shoe is most importantly the shape of of the bottom plate if you look at it from behind. Running shoes have a sharp edge. Should you ever cross that edge your ankles are gone, but you won't because you move only in one direction and that'll give you a good stability for running.

For indoor shoes the edge has to be round, so that when you twist or sprain or whatever, you'll feel it and you'll take off weight from your foot before you get injured.

Now take the MV4 and look at it from behind. It is shaped exactly like a running shoe. Even though the edges are round, the heels are hard, high and the angle of the edges won't allow a correction of a false movement.

So even though generally I had a very good feeling as long as I played I am not going to use them any more for obvious reasons and I cannot recommend them for anyone to play squash with because I think they are dangerous.

However I do understand if people like them. The look nice, have a good cushioning and somehow felt good.

I had my doubt when buying this Asics because I read the size came a little bit small, luckly for me most 8 1/2 snikers (my size) fit a little bit loose to me but not enough to be an 8, these fit to me like taylor made. So if most of your snikers fit tight to you, you should probalbly ask for one size up. Aside from that matter, they look awesome and are very comfy. I have worn them to play tennis only 3 times so i have no comments about durability.

New Balance Men's MC656 Tennis Shoe

I have always had a hard time finding comfortable, well-fitting wide shoes for tennis (and before that, basketball) so when I find a pair, I order several pairs because they are constantly being discontinued. When I get down to my last pair, I start looking for new ones. My previous shoe was the New Balance 654. However when I ordered and tried on the 656, I immediately threw away the almost new 654 pair as the 656 fit SO MUCH better. Great job, New Balance! I immediately ordered more pairs to put on the shelf.

I should also mention that I was able to go out on the court and start wearing them immediately without the usual blisters, raw spots, etc. that I'm used to with new shoes. I've been playing with them now for two months with no problems whatsoever. Two Thumbs up!

Be aware though that the red version has an altogether different construction than the blue version as you will see if you compare the pictures both on Amazon and the New Balance web site. My comments apply to the Red version with the full mesh toe area. I have no idea why they don't have a different model number than each other.

I've been buying these tennis shoes for my 15 yr old son who plays tennis several times a week. He loves that they are instantly comfortable and yet supportive for lateral movement. However, I wish the outer sole would last a bit longer. We have been finding that the rubber on the bottom wears down more quickly than other brands.

First of all before buying a running shoe you should know what is your type of feet. I was searching for the right shoes and when i entered to ASICS Web page they have a well explained description of how you can know the type of feet you have and the kind of shoes you need for your feet. I'm a under pronator and i need shoes with good support and cushion.

Now the shoes:

Pro:
1- They feel soft when your foot hit the ground running. It is like they absorb the impact.
2- Lightweight.
3- Nice fit
4- Nice design

Cons:
1- Shoe's lace are little short for me

Overall i think this is a good pair of running shoes. There is a review that said this shoes has not GEL( enter ASICS for explanation) but my shoes have 3 labels on them saying they have it.

Name Brand and lower price with comfort and support all in one ? I tried and there they were in 2 days , ready for me to go. ASICS Men's GEL-Resolution 3 Tennis Shoe

Here's my #1 rule when trying on any shoe: If it doesn't feel good on your foot when you are sitting down trying it on, it won't feel good doing anything else. Human feet come in lots of different shapes, so it's not reasonable to expect one shoe to provide an equally good fit for everyone.

Asics shoes seem like they were made for my specific foot (a little wider in the forefoot, slightly higher than average instep, normal arch), and I've been wearing only Asics running shoes since 1997. I should mention, too, that I weigh 200+ lbs. and play tennis 4-7 times a week. (Hey, what can I say? I love cookies!) I run my overweight butt off and hit the tennis balls pretty damn hard, so I'm murder on shoes.

A few years ago I owned a pair of Asics tennis shoes that weren't very good, so I've been shopping around since then. I tried quite a few top-of-the-line shoes from various brands, including Nike (comfy-for-Nikes -- which usually are sized small and run narrow -- but they literally BROKE after two weeks. Nike sent me a credit voucher, which I used to buy shorts), Adidas Barricades (great looking, but too constricting in the forefoot, very hot/sweaty, and a little slippery) and Babolats (comfy when standing still, too mushy in action, the useless velcro straps sometimes made clicking sounds, and I felt like a goof wearing red shoes).

After the Babolats -- which I gave to Goodwill with very little wear on them -- I started over, trying on shoes by Wilson, Nike, Head (yes, Head makes shoes now), Adidas (again), and Asics. In the store all of the Asics models felt reasonably comfortable, but the GEL-Resolution 3's ("GR3's" hereafter) also seemed to have a nice cushiness and a good side-to-side feel. Not that you can tell all that much about a shoe in a shoe store. So I decided to cough up the $115 (just my luck...why do I always have to like the most expensive ones?) and give the GR3's a whirl.

Well, folks, I just purchased my second pair of GR3's, and I have to say that the Asics GEL-Resolution 3 is best damn tennis shoe I've ever owned. They are very nearly perfect.

A few words about the 6-month outsole warranty (which the Babolats also had): You should never wear any shoe to the point that there is a hole in the sole, warranty be damned. Seriously, it's not safe or healthy for your feet. The warranty is *really* only saying that the outsole won't wear out like it's made of the same rubber used in pencil erasers.

So here's the quick-n-dirty of the GEL-Resolution 3's (and again, it's just my opinion...your feet may vary):

POSITIVES: GREAT FIT! Like, *awesome* fit. Seriously. Comfortably roomy in the forefoot, comfortably snug in the heel, the insole couldn't fit better if it was a custom orthotic. Nicely padded in the tongue and around the ankle. I don't think there is such thing as a tennis shoe that runs truly cool, but the GR3 is relatively breathable. I love that they have excellent traction, and they sometimes chirp on the court, especially when new, which is cool. My first pair of GR3's where white and the new pair I just bought are black with yellow accents. Both have a great look...I was even complimented just today on how cool the black pair look. They are a long way from cheap, but they are also in line with other manufacturer's high-end models, so I'd say they are a good value. Asics has struck a good weight balance with the GR3's, which don't feel especially heavy or light. (You'll usually trade durability and cushioning for lighter weight). And speaking of cushioning, the ride just can't be beat...that is, the shoe provides a wonderfully soft landing while still offering excellent support and stability. Asics might have been able to build them slightly lower to the ground by removing some of the cushioning, but I think they nailed it just right.

NEGATIVE: The ONE disappointment is relatively minor: Two of the plastic end-wraps of the laces had fallen off. Then again, have you *ever* had to re-lace a pair of shoes with the same laces? Modern laces simply never disintegrate (as did cotton laces of decades past). So I took a lighter to the tips where the plastic-end-wrap-thingies had fallen off, just to make sure they wouldn't fray, and that was the end of it. Needless to say, this is not much of a problem, but I thought I'd mention it in the hopes that someone from Asics reads this and gets a new shoelace supplier.

Adidas Barricade has been long time in the market and has gained a solid reputation of being very good because they have great durability and feet support. But let's review main characteristics expected from these tennis shoes:

1. Comfort. UNANIMOUS opinion: These tennis shoes NEED a break in period that varies according user. Initially Barricade 6.0 feel very stiff, but as sneakers are wear for 2 - 6 weeks they become more flexible. So, don't let them fool you at the very first use, be patient and give these shoes a period of time to adapt. AFTER the break in period they become very comfortable. Rating: 4,3/5

2. Weight: Barricade 6.0 sneakers are heavy (15,8 oz.). Although Adidas has tried to lessen shoes weight, these feel heavy, even more for recreational players. Rating: 3/5
Warning: Not because several professional players use one specific tennis shoes reference/brand, means that it guarantees that them are the proper tennis shoes for you.

3. Stability: Superb, I think this is outstanding and justifies weight of these shoes. Rating: 4,6/5

4. Traction: Very good, although my opinion is that traction is just above the average of best tennis shoes in the market. Rating: 4,0 /5.

5. Durability: No doubt, long lasting tennis shoes. Probably you will get bored before them show any damage. They come with a 6 months outsole limited warranty. Rating: 5/5.

6. Ventilation: It is good for the shoe design. Not outstanding but you won't feel your feet hot. Rating: 3,9/5

7. Price: Above other similar options and of course you pay for the brand, Rating: 3,8/5

9. Sizes: I use 9,5 and these fit me ok, BUT beware with width because there are some complains and for players with width foot must test carefully.

I think these are amazing tennis shoes for the advanced, semipro or pro tennis player. Tennis instructors will love them because besides comfort, durability makes them a bargain.

I rate Barricade with 5 stars considering them outstanding for advanced players; for us, mortal recreational players, rating would be 4 stars because weight and initial break in make feet soar.

P.S: I am an intermediate-advanced tennis player (NTRP 4,0 - 4,5 level*); I have been playing tennis for 3 decades and besides I love this sport, I like technical aspects about racquets, strings, tennis shoes and tennis accessories. Nowadays I am playing 80% of my time on clay surface and 20% on hard courts. I play about 8 - 10 hours a week (2-3 hours x 3-4 times a week).

ASICS Men's GEL-Kinetic 4 Running Shoe

These shoes are very comfortable, I wear size fourteen but took a fifteen just in case. They were bigger but I dont regret since they are well suited for distance running. I felt no pain in my ankles since I am using them, my weight is approximately 220 pounds. The only disadvantage I have found is that they are not suited for rough terrain like grass or off route or even aerobics. The gel at the heel is strong but it is tending to tear gradually if you run of road with them. I paid alot so I am disappointed that they are not holding up with repect to off road running, but I still recommend them because of comfort.

adidas Men's Barricade Team 2 Tennis Shoe

I was looking around for a cheaper tennis shoe that got good reviews but they didn't have my size so I decided to buy these shoes. I compared side by side to the Adidas Bercuda shoe which looks somewhat similar. As I looked closer, you could clearly see that the Barricade uses much more detail and much more higher quality material. For example, you could see double stitching and more mesh holes on the Barricade and not on the Bercuda. It is the little things like that which I was willing to pay more for. So glad that the other shoe didn't have my size in stock and I ended up with this sneaker over all the others.

1. Style? I love the style and the color combination. It looks like a high quality sneaker with plenty of detail and great material.
2. Fit and comfort? When I first put it on, I thought it felt narrow but once you start playing in them, they easily start to break in and fits perfectly. The comfort is very nice, the shoes feel very light and the shoes keep your feet cooler with all those ventilation holes.
3. Performance? I have worn many types of sneakers on the tennis court but this shoe is clearly the best. I am running faster from sideline to sideline as well as baseline to net. I can stop and start on a dime and not have to worry about twisted ankles. No shock from jumping as well with the cushioning.

New Balance Men's MC1005 Tennis Shoe

Am very disappointed in this new replacement for the CT1004 which I've worn for several years. Not only is the CT1005 higher priced, it appears to have lower quality--no reinforced eyelets, cheaper material and stitching and less padding. It also offers less foot support than the CT1004. The CT1005 is made in China which might help to explain why this shoe is more narrow than its predecessor. One of the previous advantages of NB shoes was they were made in the USA with a wider last than most of their competitors which are foreign made with narrower lasts. I would like Amazon to indicate whether a shoe is foreign-made or US-made.

I recently purchased this shoe for my husband who has severe pain in his feet, and is on them all day at his job. So I was very excited to surprise him with these shoes after all the reviews I'd read about how much they help! I'm saddened to say that we just received them, and I wish I had paid more attention. THEY DO RUN SMALL. If I have any advice is please do order a size up.. We ordered the size 12, received and they are in fact to small, his toes were cramped, So I called- to which prompted this review, and you have to pay to return them! I expected a lot more from a company selling $100 shoes, perhaps I'm just old fashioned that way.. but that's what I'd expected, So they get 2 stars for now, cause frankly I am not impressed up to this point in time. I will review again in lets see they said 6-10 processing time, + another shipping time... 2 weeks...or more. :( <Very disappointed customer.

ASICS Men's GEL-Enduro 6 Running Shoe

I've had these shoes for about 2 years now, they are my very first pair of ASICS, and here are my impressions:

-Superb comfort. I'm 40 years old and these are probably the most comfortable sneakers I've ever worn. They fit very snug and tight, but in a good way. They just completely wrap your foot in comfort with no play or movement which can cause irritation & blisters. Each step I take is just total comfort and control.

-They are a very good looking shoe in my opinion.

-Very well made. The look and feel of everything is fantastic and they still look almost new after wearing them about 2 days per week for a couple years. Granted, they haven't seen any harsh conditions.

- Price is a bargain.

Conclusion: Highly recommended! When it comes to sneakers/hikers, no more Nike or New Balance for me. Either Asics or Columbia is where I'll go from now on.

New Balance Men's MC655 Tennis Shoe

I bought these in a size 11.5 D (medium) width. Stats: male, 37, 5'11", 220 lbs, moderatley active.
While there was an initial break-in period, they were well worth the effort. Just getting back into tennis after a long lay-off, they fit perfectly after softening up a bit and adding decent cushioning insoles. No blisters, excellent lateral stability, fairly lightweight. Leather where they should be, mesh where possible to keep feet cool, relatively speaking (I live in Phoenix, will be playing today, 113 degrees.)
Too early to tell if they will be durable, but they seem well constructed.
Compared to similarly priced Adidas, Nike, Asics and Wilson. Asics were close. Adidas were narrow. Nike and Wilson were both terrible; lots of places rubbing against the foot, not smooth inside like the New Balance. Tried more expensive NB's but these seemed the most stable.

Prince Men's T22 Tennis Shoe

Great shoe, very well built and sturdy, made to last. It has strong reinforcement on the leather uppers to withstand heavy duty playing. I am a competitive racquetball player in games 3 to 4 times per week and I put my shoes through war, and I believe this shoe could last a long time. It even comes with a 6-month outsole warranty, which is a testament to its sturdiness.

However, the shoe just doesn't fit me. It is slightly narrow and slightly small to the fit. I typically wear 10.5, and the 10.5 was too small for me, and the 11 was too large (my feet moved around too much), so unfortunately I had to return both of them and try a different shoe.

Otherwise, the rubber soles are great for traction, and the shoe has the makings of a great performance piece.

ASICS Men's GEL-Resolution 4 Tennis Shoe

Ordered these shoes...having been very satisfied with the Gel-2's I have, which fit nicely, but these new shoes were very tight across the top of the toe box...so much so that I couldn't wear them...tried loosening the strings...but to no avail...so back they went. I ordered a pair of Prince T22's. I'll review them when they arrive in a couple of days. I gave the Asics Resolution 4 a four, because they are nice shoes...just a little strange in the fit department. They even tell you to order a half size smaller due to size variances...which I did...and lengthwise...they were as advertised.

BTW...my foot is a D width...and has always fit other D width shoes in the past without noticeable issues.

Okay...I received the Prince T22's. All I can say is that I'm happy the Asics didn't fit...the T22's are very nice...fit well, and are made from quality materials...not to mention that the fact that they are very comfortable...so much so, that I just ordered a second pair.

I'm looking forward to a lot of comfortable court time in them.

New Balance Men's CT1004 Tennis Shoe

I started playing racquetball regularly against my much younger and stronger/faster brother in law. I was wearing some old tennis shoes to play and found that they didn't offer nearly enough support for sudden changes in motion or for the running I was doing. I decided to buy a pair of shoes meant for playing tennis/racquetball and bought this pair from Amazon due to good reviews. I've had them for about a month now and really feel they've helped me play better. I can stop/start/move laterally much more comfortably and better than my old pair of shoes. I never think much about my feet now as I've got no issues with them. They are comfortable and look snazzy. I'm very happy with the purchase.
